This is an inside look at how groups function, mostly to answer questions by users who don't know what features will be included or how they will function.
-.- There are probably some pretty gruesome typos in here, I haven't proof-read this just yet, please feel free to point out any you see.
I implore you to ask questions, the more you ask, the more detailed and the more useful I can make this
FAQ: >> The number of users who can participate in a group (submit art, blogs, favs, etc) is unlimited, even for unsubscribed groups. You do not have to join the group (become a groupie) in order to participate. There is currently a limit of 100 groupies for any unsubscribed group. >> Correspondence Items, when closed, are removed from the group message center. The system tries to reduce clutter, thus the messages can be seen in the group log if needed for reference purposes >> Only 2 groups appear in the collections drop down at this time >> Tips and tricks for changing the search results while searching for artwork to submit to a group can be found here: [link] , "gallery:username" for normal stuff and "gallery:username/*" for everything including scraps =Pyritie >> There is nowhere where you can currently get a group during this alpha testing phase, you have to be hand chosen by an admin to receive one
What does it mean when you push 'YES' on a Correspondence Message but a window pops up & says 'The target folder is over it's size limit' bc this keeps happening to me.
Groups are only allowed to have 5000 or so deviations in any given folder. If they send you an invite to submit an artwork to a folder that is already full, then you get that error when you try to accept the invite. The group needs to add a new folder for you to submit to
So what does it mean when I get a message saying "somebody has requested my permission to submit something to a group gallery"? What exactly does this do?
Thank you so much for putting this up, it's much appreciated! I have a question and I'm hoping this hasn't been asked umpteen times (if so, my sincere apologies!) - if I receive an invitation to join a group as a member, and I click the 'x' button to close it, without clicking either 'yes' or 'no', does it tell the group admins that I've declined to join?
Which group was this from btw?
