I was curious about the gender breakdown among users who have received the Deviousness Award fourteenthstar.deviantart.com/….  I pulled the list from seniorlist seniorlist.deviantart.com/jour…, nixed the banned users and came up with:
Male: 100
Female: 55
Not Reporting: 16

This was quick and dirty, I wasn't paying too close attention to the script, I may have dropped/added a couple (I intentionally omitted the April Fool's accounts), but the breakdown should be around those numbers.

I was honestly expecting a dominant female ratio actually. I was under the impression that women in general stood out as being viewed as slightly more 'generous', like with MamaLantiis who got the award in November and who happens to run dAWishingWell.  From my observations with Recommended Friends, I'm also of the belief the general site is slightly more female than male, but I have yet to actually verify that in any meaningful way.

Life

I have about six different serious projects all competing for my time this semester.
:bulletblue:  Front and center is my thesis I need to wrap up.  I think I finally have a viable concept of how to rendezvous two spacecraft using drag and a thruster, but I need go from concept to finished novel in a semester or so (I'm currently betting I'll have it done in the summer)
:bulletblue:  Qualifying exams are coming up soon.  Kinda want to get into the PhD program to put it mildly.  I hit up a few fellowships last semester, maybe some funding will come through
:bulletblue:  I have this sudo-mysterious quadcopter project I signed an NDA for.  It's a pretty hefty time commitment, but pretty fun stuff to be working on.  It's fully and completely irrelevant to my studies at present.  I got involved with it through word of mouth (one of those friend-of-a-friend deals - they weren't kidding, that really is the way to get jobs in this economy, at least in engineering)
:bulletblue:  Rocket payload.  Mentioned in a few previous journals.  I put together the purchase request in August and submitted it in September.  We got the parts in mid-January.  To put it mildly, I am disappointed in how little we will be able to do with this payload because of the bureaucracy at my school.  I spent all last semester bringing a team of roughly a dozen engineering students up to speed on how to interface with hardware I didn't have.  This semester rolls around and I'm down to two people left, everyone else has left due the heavy course load in the Spring semester.  Right now I'm planning on cutting out about 70% of the functionality and just have the GPS and transmitter in the payload.
:bulletblue:  Classes.  GPS course looks to be mild to a heavy work load, and math looks about average.
:bulletblue:  Odds-and-ends.  I've always got something on dA going on.  Right now I've got groups like MLP-FiM and Bronies hitting me up for tallies of admin votes - trying to figure out which group admins are active in approving submissions and which aren't, and it's not like dA provides that kind of information anywhere, you need a script to collect it (and even then the dA interface breaks about 10,000 messages back - in large groups that goes back about one month, after that you have no records).
